PARAÑAQUE City Mayor Florencio M.Bernabe Jr., led the celebration of the seventh anniversary of the city of Parañaque last 14 February 2005.
"It is an honor to celebrate the seventh anniversary of our city and I am rateful for the support that our citizens and employees have given on this very special day," Mayor Bernabe said.
Mayor Bernabe believes that this also marks the beginning of Parañaque'srise as a premier city due to the various livelihoodprojectsthat have been implemented by the local government which have benefited its citizens.
Mayor Bernabe also thanked Malacañang for issuing Proclamation No. 789 declaring 14 February 2005 a special (non-working) day in the city of Parañaque for its citizens to observe the occasion.
The celebration started at 2:00 pm with a motorcade participated in by around 5,000 people led by City Hall officials and employees as well as officials of Parañaque's 16 barangays.
The motorcade began in historic Baclaran church along Redemptorist Road and passed through barangays Tambo, Don Galo, La Huerta and San Dionisio, ending in SM-Sucat.
Upon arriving at SM-Sucat, the celebration continued with snacks for participants and a fee concert where popular bands like Bamboo, South Border and Salbakuta performed to the delight of the crowd.
Mayor Bernabe praised the organizers of the event led by Parañaque First Lady Maria Fe Bernabe, City Administrator Noli Aldip, and all those involved in making the event possible.
