Parañaque launches second job fair

NEARLY 6,000.00 job seekers flocked to Parañaque City Hall as it launched a second job fair where 62 companies participated in the said event that was held at the parking lot last month.

“I would like to thank that organizers for their efforts for the successful launching of this job fair and I am sure that our citizens will have a better opportunity to find employment because we will make this a quarterly event, “ Mayor Bernabe said.

Mayor Bernabe also urged job seekers to persevere in their efforts to find work and never lose hope in these hard times as there will be more opportunities in future job fairs.

This is the second job fair that was organized by the Parañque Livelihood Resource Management Office (PLRMO) since Mayor Bernabe took office with the first job fair held last September 20, 2004.

OIC-PLRMO head Ms. Doris Marquez also extended her thanks to City Officials who helped make this job fair a reality which is one of Mayor Bernabe’s major projects in his “Bangon Parañaque” campaign.

Among the major companies who participated were Festival Supermall, Pure Gold, Centennial Plastic, Fujitsu Computer Products, Hitachi Computer Products, Leslie Corporation, Robinsons Dept. Store, SM Group of Companies, SPI Technologies, and Sterling Paper.

Joining Mayor Bernabe and OIC-PLRMO head Ms. Doris Marquez during the opening ceremonies of the job fair were DOLE NCR Director Ricardo Martinez, Rolly Rosales, DOLE Dist. Director, Ms. Didi Galsim, PLRMO Consultant, and Mr. Nelson Hornilla, DOLE Acting Division Chief.
