Parañaque builds new lounge for taxpayers' convenience
With the convenience of taxpayers in mind, Paranaque City Mayor Florencio Bernabe Jr. has approved the construction of a two-storey building on the grounds of the city hall.
The additional building will be completed in 90 days at the cost of P27 million in spite of the fiscal crisis the city government is facing.
“Everybody is aware that the past administration had left us with P946.8 million in debts, but through enhanced tax collection system we are going to apply as soon as the new building is finished, we might pay the city’s debts in two or three years time,” Mayor Bernabe said.
He promised that this administration will be tax payer friendly, “that explains why we invest on this undertaking,” Bernabe said.
The ground floor of the new building will house the taxpayer’s lounge, the extension offices of the city assessor and the city treasurer.
