
Job applicants queue up for employment at city hall grounds
At least 5,000 applicants joined the one-day job fair held in the quadrangle of Paranaque city hall last 20 September 2004 which was organized by Parañaque's Livelihood Resource Management Office (LRMO) with the participation of 54 established and named companies.

“The attendance showed that more people are in need of jobs these days. That is why we tapped the private sector to help the city government generate jobs and to solve the problem of unemployment in Paranaque City”, Parañaque Mayor Florencio Bernabe Jr. stated.
Among the companies who joined the jobs fair were SM Group of companies, Hitachi Computers, Robinsons Convenience Stores, Red Ribbon, Bench, Citibank, Plaza Fair, Sterling Paper Group of Companies, Primer Group of Companies, Dunkin Donuts, Festival Supermall, Fujitsu Computers, Metro Gaisano, National Bookstore, Toyota Alabanc, etc.

“We were surprised with the huge turnout of applicants. We almost ran out of bio-data forms”, LRMO chief Doris Marquez said. The total number of blank forms that were distributed was 5,000. Some applicants made photocopies of the forms.
It was open to applicants from all localities, but most of the applicants were residents of Paranaque City.

The activity was in line with the city government’s program “Bangon Paranaque” that aims to uplift the living standard of the city residents.
