Barangay Marcelo Green

Barangay Marcelo Green, one of the sixteen (16) Barangays of Parañaque, occupies an aggregate land area of 287.19 has. representing 6.57% of the total land area of Parañaque. It ranks as the seventh (7th) largest in size among the Barangays of the city.

It is bounded on the north by Barangay Don Bosco and Barangay Sun Valley, on the west and south by Barangay San Antonio and on the east by the South Superhighway.

Historical Background

Barangay Marcelo Green was created through Presidential Decree No. 1328, on April 3, 1978. the subdivisions known as Severina Diamond, United Parañaque Subdivision IV, Superville, Ireneville II and Marcelo Green Village in Barangay La Huerta were separated and became an independent barangay known as Barangay Marcelo Green.

Education

Formal education in Barangay Marcelo Green is being served by private schools. There are four (4) private schools namely: Ville St. John Academy, Village Nursery School, Pre-Village School and The Master’s Academy.

For pre-schoolers, there are eight (8) day care centers.

Health services

Health delivery system in Barangay Marcelo Green is provided by the public health center located along Marcelo Avenue and by the Marcelo Green Surgical and Medical Clinic in Marcelo Green Village, a private clinic.

The health center provides medical services centered on the health need requirements of the barangay’s constituents, particularly those in the so-called mission areas. Medical services are courtesy of a health physician, a nurse and two midwives, while dental services are given by a dentist and a dental aide. The laboratory is manned by a medical technologist and a laboratory aide.

Transportation

Since Marcelo Green is mostly composed of subdivisions, tricycles (motorcycles with passenger cabs attached to them) are the most common means of transportation.
